- SHERIFF'S SALE - By virtue of a writ of Vendition Exponas, to me directed, will be exposed to public sale or vendue, on Monday, April three, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, at seven o'clock, P.M., at the Philadelphia Exchange:
All that certain lot or piece of ground situate on the north side of Vine street and east side of Twelfth street continued, in the district of Spring Garden, formerly in Penn township, in the county of Philadelphia - Containing in front on said Vine street east and west thirty-five feet, and in length or depth north and south fifty-six feet be the same in length or breadth more or less. Bounded westward by other ground of the said Samuel B. Rudolph, northward by ground late of Lydia Roberts, since of Charles Shippen, westward by the said Twelfth street, and southward with the said Vine street. (Being the same premises which Sarah C. Biddle, by indenture dated the eleventh day of January, A.D. 1841, and recorded in deed book G.S., No. 22, page 528, &c., granted and conveyed by James B. Rudolph in fee, reserving thereout the yearly rent or sum of two hundred and fifty-five dollars, payable half yearly on the first days of January and July to the said Sarah C. Biddle, her heirs and assigns.
Also, all that certain lot or piece of ground, situate on the north side of Vine street, at the distance of thirty-five feet eastward from the east side of Twelfth street continued, in the district of Spring Garden, formerly Penn township, in the county of Philadelphia - Containing in front or breadth on the said Vine street, east and west, thirty-five feet, and extending in length or depth north and south fifty-six feet. Bounded eastward by ground late of James and Andrew Hamilton, northward by ground late of Lydia Roberts, since of Charles Shippen, westward by other ground now of the said Samuel B. Rudolph, and southward by Vine street aforesaid. (Being the same premises which James C. Biddle and wife, by indenture dated the twenty-sixth day of November, A.D. 1836, recorded in deed book SHF, No. 7, page 276, &c., granted and conveyed to the said Samuel B. Rudolph in fee. Reserving thereout the yearly rent or sum of one hundred and twenty-six dollars, payable half yearly on the twenty-sixth day of May and November in every year to the said James C. Biddle, his heirs and assigns.
N.B. On the premises above described are erected a two story brick stable at the corner of Vine and Twelfth streets, twenty-six feet front on Vine street, by fifty-six feet in depth on Twelfth street. A two story brick office on Vine street, containing in front fourteen feet, and in depth eighteen feet. And on the rest of both lots frame sheds for carriages.
The two lots will be sold together, having been used as a livery stable, for which purpose the buildings were erected.
Seized and taken in execution as the property of Samuel B. Rudolph, and to be sold by
HENRY LELAR, Sheriff.
