"This group aboard the 'L'Amitie' [400 tons] included 270 passengers from 68 families. A few non-Acadians also came. Captain was Joseph Beltremieux. Much sickness aboard; six died. Group finally totalled 93 families. Original of 68 families plus 17 marriages, 10 births, 24 new adherents. Only group that did not lose any member through death while in New Orleans. There were 71 families that settled in La Fourche in Valenzuela (area around Plattenville in upper Assumption Parish, south of Donaldsonville), 3 families at Atacapas (St. Martinville) and 17 families at Nueva Galvez (southeast of Baton Rouge).
